Collier County enacts a 4% tax on all hotel, campground and vacation rental stays of less than six months. Remember That many of our winter residents are Collier County property owners and do not stay in hotels, so as Considered They are not, nor are they Counted ace, visitors.

The distribution of the tourist development tax dollars is September According To Collier County ordinance. The funds are dispersed as follows:

Category A - Beach-Related Projects and renourishment

  • 50% of the first 2% Allocated for beach renourishment, beach park facilities and inlet management
  • 100% of the third percent collected is Allocated to beach renourishment, beach park facilities and inlet management

Under a funding policy ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 1, 2005 one-third of Category A específicamente tourist development tax is dedicated to beach park facilities with the remainder dedicated to beach improvement, maintenance, renourishment, restoration and erosion Including Control pass and inlet maintenance.

Category B - Tourism Promotion

  • 24% of the first 2% collected pays for tourism administration (Convention and Visitors Bureau Office) and for reimbursement of the Emergency Fund Advertising
  • 100% of the fourth percent pays for tourism advertising and promotion

Category C-Museums

  • 26% of the first 2% is Allocated for museums
  • County-owned museums receive 22%
  • Non-County museums receive 4, 764%

Further Regulations Concerning the use of the Tourist Development Tax proceeds are Outlined in the Florida State Statute 125.0104 and the Collier County Tourist Development Tax ordinance.

HORRIBLE piece of legislation, based on falsehoods and skewed statistics. Looks to ban many species of pythons from interstate travel...etc. based on sensationalism of the Florida python problem.
