In the United States you are discussing a lot of the case of African-American tennis player Taylor Townsend, who is 16 years old and is the world's number one female in the junior category.

It all started last week, when the Wall Street Journal said that the Federation of American tennis players (USTA) had decided not to pay in Townsend travel expenses and registration at the U.S. Open (which were played in New York from 27 August to September 9) and keep it on the bench until he had regained fitness. The Fed knew it was in fact overweight and not fit enough to play. The decision was arrived after this summer Townsend had lost a qualifying tournament in Vancouver, Canada: his coach had asked her not to attend the National Championships in San Diego and return to training at the Academy of Boca Raton, Florida, managed by the Federation. If Townsend had won the championships in San Diego, would automatically obtained a wild card to participate in the U.S. Open.

In an interview on Good Morning America, Townsend said that it had obtained "no answer as to why they did not want me to play, I have only said that I had to concentrate on my fitness. Almost all of the other federations, if they had a number one in the world in the junior category, would split the back to make it go forward. I certainly do not say I'm the best person in the world fast or agile. Why are not. " Townsend said that once he returned to the Academy coaches have imposed the above exercises to lose weight, making her play tennis the bare minimum to not make her lose her hand. Eventually, mother Sheila has paid out of pocket expenses to get her to participate in the U.S. Open, where he reached the quarter-finals.

The story of the Wall Street Journal has caused much controversy among the public, the sports commentators and even athletes, including the American tennis player Serena Williams - winner of the last U.S. Open and in turn famous for physical rather massive - which has intervened in favor Townsend criticizing the decision of the Federation: "If it went like this really is a tragedy, because everyone deserves to play. For a woman, especially in the United States, particularly for an African American, it makes no sense to have to deal with things like that. The athletes have different shapes, sizes and different skin colors. '

We are thinking very seriously about relocating to the Tampa/St.Pete/Ybor area. We have taken a couple vacations there over the years, and I used to travel there for work. But we still feel we don't really know the area t …more than a few minutes away from downtown.

Do you have information or tips to share? Areas we should check out?

I think we are prepared to spend 250-350K, if that helps.
    Thanks in advance!

    • Ybor City is a bad area. Stay away from it. Ybor is in Tampa, not Orlando as this section is Orlando not Tampa.

Do lots of vacationers travel there in large numbers with 16 and 17-year-olds who are on "unofficial" party-trips?

    10 points for best answer/analysis -- thanks for reply-info

    • It is a safe place to travel to, yes. However, it is also a huge spring break and party location. A lot of under-age people go there to drink, and then that leads to stupid incidents like the ones you mentioned above.
