Posted on January 3, 2012 – 00:00

Destin, Florida, is located along the Gulf of Mexico on the Emerald Coast. Known for its white beaches and crystal clear waters, is a popular destination for newlyweds on their honeymoon and for couples looking for a romantic weekend. Options are available rustic, luxurious and adventurous for everyone.

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Located right on the Gulf of Mexico, Destin, the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort let the bride and groom take advantage of Florida's beaches and outdoor recreation. Couples can lie on the white beaches and rent cabins or umbrellas to relax in private. If you are looking for something a bit 'more adventurous, rent a kayak and a aquascooter and go around the beautiful coast.

There are romantic packages that include discounted rates for a studio and a dinner for two. The package also offers two half sessions couples massage in the privacy of their room. Finally, I am also including chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne. Couples can also book packages by calling the resort directly or by going to the website.

If you package your airfare and your accommodations, you probably have more choices then you might think. Your post is a little unclear if you want the entire week to be under $700 or just the airfare portion. You can pick up vacation packages to the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area in... in Clearwater, more nightlife in Ybor City in Tampa, Busch Gardens, some great parks where you canoe or kayak. I live here, so I know a bit about this area. During Spring Break, the area certainly gets its share of spring breakers, but it is much more subdued than the Daytona or Panama City spring breaks you may be more familiar with.

  • Avatar qchiapetp What tips do you have for a Florida Spring Break trip?

We're 4 college girls (21+) planning to fly to Florida for Spring Break 2010. Please give details on places to stay, eat, and party and things to do :) Any other hints would be nice (e.g. package deals).
I'm thinking Panama City Beach or anywhere else people in their 20s usually go to party.

    • Panama City, and the panhandle in general, has the nicest beaches in Florida. Probably in the country. Sand that's as white as snow and so fine that it squeaks as you walk. The drawback is that you're taking a huge gamble …o that asap. You might also want to look into the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach or Pensacola areas. They each have their own charm, have gorgeous beaches and good bars (just a little smaller and less crowded than PC). Have fun!
