Things were moving right along until three weeks ago.
Then the Southwest Florida tourism market hit what Virginia Haley, president of the Sarasota Convention & Visitors Bureau, jokingly called "radio silence."
"They were getting their hotel prices locked in, ...o know what we are going to do about it," Kuykendall said. "We've been proactive early on. We signed a contract with Southwest Airlines to boost traffic for fall and winter. We opened an office in China."
The agency also launched "media missions" and sent teams to places like Dallas, Chicago and Birmingham, Ala., as well as focusing on markets from where people can easily drive to Florida.

Moving to south florida soon, looking to buy a fifth wheel travel trailer, used or low tow time. would like a pop out.

    • I live in Indiana, not far from where many of those trailers are made. There seems to be no shortage of used trailers for sale around here! I would think too that Southern Florida would have many for sale as the people get older and may not want to pull them any longer.
